At the end of each season we sit down and go through all the photos and testimonials from the season. As we sort through the emails and the photos it never fails to give us goosebumps, it never fails to make us happy (and a little sad), and it never fails to remind us me of the power and beauty of our wild places and, even more importantly, of the unique and remarkable people we are lucky enough to spend time with on the river every season.

“3 days & 2 nights of adventure on the Upper Klamath – How many times can you truly say an activity/excursion EXCEED your expectations?? Momentum did this in a big way!!
Vikram, Shana, and Lorenzo not only gave us exciting floats down Class IV-V rapids, they also blew us away with their service, hospitality and camp cuisine.The camp was amazing, as it is on a secluded stretch of the river. When is the last time you spend two night and ALL you heard was the river? You were sleeping in a tent but the nights cooled off in July to the point you were looking for that sleeping bag they gave you!
Make no mistake, by camp food, I am talking about international food that was eaten by the picky palates of my teens. I am not listing menu as it changes, but you will not be disappointed. Not only was the food good, it was plentiful…omg, we are eating Again???
These guides aren’t just passing through on their way to a different career, these are educated, world traveled, highly skilled service minded people who love to share their passion with others! The conversations in the raft and at camp we akin to watching National Geographic.They should be called “chik a fila” rafting because every request & every need was met with my pleasure. I only have ONE REGRET! My family is now ruined for the “average” raft trip…”

“My late mother lived her final two decades of life in Rogue River, Oregon, and each time I drove up from the San Francisco Bay Area to visit her, I would sit by the Rogue River and wonder what the river was doing beyond Grant’s Pass. Three or so years ago, I decided to find out. I signed up with Momentum for a rafting trip that would put me on the river for three days and carry me through its most scenic stretch. The two nights out were to be spent in rustic riverside lodges accessible only by water or on foot (or, in the case of Paradise Lodge, by small plane). I made that first journey with a dozen other amiable folks in heartbreakingly beautiful sunny weather — a wonderful trip led by an amazing river guide, Eric Sol. After that trip, I just had to get back out there on the water, so I signed up again with Momentum for the same rafting tour, this time dragging along my husband on the feeble pretense of it being his birthday present. Same itinerary — but, as it turned out, NOT the same experience. Together with just two other fellas and our superb guide Anna Folks, we froze our butts off during a couple days of unseasonable rain. Yet NOW, when I think back on this most recent trip, all I can remember was the extraordinary natural beauty of the river, the camaraderie of our fellow paddlers, my admiration for our river guide, the comfort of our accommodations, and how grateful I was that second afternoon when we pulled into Paradise Lodge and got our “Rum and Tea” in the bar. It’s nuts, I know, but somehow the extreme weather just made the trip all that more meaningful. And the rain certainly brought out the river otters. Thank you, Momentum — can’t wait to go with you again!”
“Rafting the Middle and Lower Owyhee with Momentum: What an amazing experience. The river was wild and beautiful. The scenery was spectacular, a trip of a lifetime. I have to credit Momentum with making this trip as incredible as it was. The guides were enthusiastic, knowledgable and obviously experienced. They work together as a flawless team. This was my first rafting trip and I will book additional trips with Momentum. The first stage on the Middle Owyhee took my breath away. The rapids were traversed with ease and even in the portage around the Widowmaker, I felt safe and comfortable. On the Lower Owyhee, there were many other travelers both commericial and private. We never once had any problems with camping sites or issues with other people enjoying the river. This company is very client focused and made sure we had the opportunity to fully enjoy this unbelievable, remote site. The food was prepared with skill, presented artistically and was incredibly tasty and filling. I highly recommend Momentum to anyone looking for the time of their lives. It surely was for me.”
“OMG! This company gives you your money’s worth and then some. The guides were incredible, knowledgeable, skilled and enjoyable to be with. Their knowledge of the river, the landscape and various flora and fauna was impressive. The equipment was excellent and well cared for. The food was easily as good as a fine restaurant and presented with a flair unexpected for such a remote location. I never wanted for anything. I will book additional trips with Momentum and highly recommend this company to anyone wanting a trip of a lifetime as this truly was. My group rafted the Middle and Lower Owyhee. “Thanks, Pete, This trip was incredible. It was such a unique experience to show up at a fully set-up river camp with all the amenities but to have ran there along that epic trail, it made the camps so rewarding. I’ve done a lot of river trips where I feel like I need to do a serious detox from beer, hot dogs, and sitting in a raft all day but this trip had all the positive parts of a raft trip without the negatives. Plus, getting to do a point to point trail run like that was an amazing experience on top of the river camp life. I already want to do this again next year! Sincerely, Patrick”
“I am a retired river guide so I know how it should be done and momentum is terrific. We took our 8,11+13 year old kids in their first multi-day river trip and they had a blast with the kayaks, paddle board, raft,side hikes and jumping spots. The guides were not only highly skilled but fun and very service oriented. Our family has diverse food needs too. 5 stars all around”
“3 AMAZING days on the Klamath: Our family of six just spent 3 days/2 nights camping/kayaking/rafting and using a stand up paddle board enjoying the Klamath River. Our guides were excellent, in knowledge, stories told, and as our chefs. They became part of our family. The river was perfect with Eagles and Ospreys soaring above us, almost as if they were following us. The amazing beauty of the mountains covered with pines lay before us as we floated and camped. The food we excellent, we laughed and joked. Our grandson (9 yrs. old) was able to experience kayaking and paddle boarding, memories he will keep forever…..Thank you Momentum.“
“Epic 3-day Multi-Sport Trip: We did a 3-day rafting, Mtn Biking and Kayaking trip with these guys. It was top-notch glamping. The campsite had way more infrastructure than we expected, even running water + toilets. Guides looked after every ask, beds were super comfy, and the location was insane. Would recommend this to anybody who’s interested. ”
“Went to Southern Oregon for my friend’s bachelor party and did the multi-sport safari with Momentum. The experience is one I’ll never forget and one of the best trips I’ve ever been on. The team is extremely professional, helpful, and fun. The riverside camp is amazing and hard to believe they’re able to bring that level of amenities to the middle of nowhere. Very surprised by the quality of the meals provided, we ate like kings. Would highly suggest to any interested in attending.”
“We spent 3 days with the fabulous Momentum crew on the Rogue River in early July. Our guides Shana, Tyler and Rob were all absolute legends. Shana as trip leader was incredible, what a great role model and mentor for my 12yo daughter. I loved that thanks to our guides our trip was very relaxed and had much less testosterone fuelled energy than we saw in some other groups along the way. As promised, the food was AMAZING!! 3 glorious days on the beautiful Rogue River, we wish it was longer. Thank you Shana, Tyler & Rob for a top experience. “We had a fantastic trip with three families rafting the Rogue River. For several of us, it was our first rafting trip, we had a mixture of adults & kids, vegans & carnivores, picky eaters (the kids!) and more, and Momentum not only handled it with grace but prepared excellent food, kept us safe and having fun on the river, and gave us the family trip of a lifetime. We loved it, and we can’t wait to do another river with Momentum. Andy, Diego and Derek are fantastic guides; they hosted a fun Rogue wine tasting with local cheeses, the kept us safe on the rapids, setup our tents, played guitar and sang in the evenings – and by the last day we were all sad to leave. We loved being off the grid and in nature. Momentum is excellent and we plan to book a trip with them again ”
