Rogue River Rafting Testimonials
- 5 "I am a retired river guide so I know how it should be done and momentum is terrific. We took our 8,11+13 year old kids in their first multi-day river trip and they had a blast with the kayaks, paddle board, raft, side hikes and jumping spots. The guides were not only highly skilled but fun and very service oriented. Our family has diverse food needs too. 5 stars all around"
- 5 "My late mother lived her final two decades of life in Rogue River, Oregon, and each time I drove up from the San Francisco Bay Area to visit her, I would sit by the Rogue River and wonder what the river was doing beyond Grant’s Pass. Three or so years ago, I decided to find out. I signed up with Momentum for a rafting trip that would put me on the river for three days and carry me through its most scenic stretch. The two nights out were to be spent in rustic riverside lodges accessible only by water or on foot (or, in the case of Paradise Lodge, by small plane). I made that first journey with a dozen other amiable folks in heartbreakingly beautiful sunny weather — a wonderful trip led by an amazing river guide, Eric Sol. After that trip, I just had to get back out there on the water, so I signed up again with Momentum for the same rafting tour, this time dragging along my husband on the feeble pretense of it being his birthday present. Same itinerary — but, as it turned out, NOT the same experience. Together with just two other fellas and our superb guide Anna Folks, we froze our butts off during a couple days of unseasonable rain. Yet NOW, when I think back on this most recent trip, all I can remember was the extraordinary natural beauty of the river, the camaraderie of our fellow paddlers, my admiration for our river guide, the comfort of our accommodations, and how grateful I was that second afternoon when we pulled into Paradise Lodge and got our “Rum and Tea” in the bar. It’s nuts, I know, but somehow the extreme weather just made the trip all that more meaningful. And the rain certainly brought out the river otters. Thank you, Momentum — can’t wait to go with you again!"
- 5 "Best trip I’ve been on in my life (Safari Style Trip)" - Tyler
- 5 "Couldn’t ask for better guides, really made the trip so much better!... Camp exceeded expectations especially the small touches like the flowers in the tents, the small details added so much! The food blew me away, I didn’t think food that good could be cooked on the side of a river. (Safari Style Trip)" - Kylee
- 5 "We had a fantastic trip with three families rafting the Rogue River. For several of us, it was our first rafting trip, we had a mixture of adults & kids, vegans & carnivores, picky eaters (the kids!) and more, and Momentum not only handled it with grace but prepared excellent food, kept us safe and having fun on the river, and gave us the family trip of a lifetime. We loved it, and we can't wait to do another river with Momentum. Andy, Diego and Derek are fantastic guides; they hosted a fun Rogue wine tasting with local cheeses, the kept us safe on the rapids, setup our tents, played guitar and sang in the evenings - and by the last day we were all sad to leave. We loved being off the grid and in nature. Momentum is excellent and we plan to book a trip with them again!" - Lisa W.
- 5 "If you've never been on a rafting trip, go to MOMENTUM. If you have gone with another company and you thought you had a good time, try MOMENTUM. For those of you who have rafted with them, you already know....No IPADS, no TV, no Phones. It really resets your body and mind..." - Mary
- 5 "Thank YOU, Pete! It was a fabulous trip, and Orea and Jane were amazing excellent guides (and chefs and photographers). This was a first for the little kids, though they are all experienced campers, and it was a huge success. Lake Michigan and Lake Huron will never be quite the same for them, and I'm sure they'll be eager to go again. My husband and I will be, too. I'd rather have a retirement of active adventures than sitting in a rocking chair!" - Deborah
- 5 "If you've never been on a rafting trip, go to MOMENTUM. If you have gone with another company and you thought you had a good time, try MOMENTUM. For those of you who have rafted with them, you already know. Alan, Celine and Tyler made everything so EASY, SAFE, and CONVENIENT. My 9 year old son had a blast. No IPADS, no TV, no Phones. It really resets your body and mind. I'm already planning my next trip. Thank you MOMENTUM!!" - Sandy
- 5 "Hi Tyler, Arden, and Simon, You all are the greatest! We had an absolutely fantastic time and I was so impressed with you all! Our trip wildly exceeded my expectations (even though this was my first ever rafting trip!), and each of you was responsible for helping make it one of the most enjoyable adventures I've ever been on! Thank you again for everything and we look forward to seeing you all on another adventure!" - Lee
- 5 "My 11 year old son and I recently did the 3 day lodge trip down the Rogue River. Where to begin? Our guides, Eric and Alan, made us feel immediately comfortable and well taken care of from everything to the clear instructions on safety, to intensive knowledge and interesting stories from Rogue River's past, to amazing happy hours, and those meals - fresh fruits/veggies, local cheese and wine, and crazy good cooked and prepared dishes! There was never a moment that we didn't feel well attended to. Even more amazing was watching my son develop from a tentative rafter to an avid self confident kayaker in the space of three days! This, even after becoming a "swimmer" on day two, he couldn't wait to jump back in to the inflatable kayak with a big grin. Really great to watch! I can't recommend this trip enough. It was so much fun, and yet, really peaceful. One of the families that joined us have done a number of rafting tours and confirmed that Momentum is their number one raft group of choice for all the reasons I also mention. I am already printing out next years potential choices! So what are you waiting for, GO NOW!" - Vicki
- 5 "Sam, Sol, and Alan, I want to thank you all for making our trip down the Rogue a wonderful lifetime memory. To be able to share such a quality experience with our daughters was really priceless. Your professional, friendly, relaxed and attention to all of our needs made it a super easy vacation for us. Plus the food was amazing. Great job!" - Tomio
- 5 "We met our 2 adult children in Oregon for a family reunion and spent 4 days rafting the Rogue River with Momentum River Expeditions. What an incredible trip! Our guides were unbelievable—knowledgeable, professional, skilled and so fun to be around. We consider ourselves a little bit “foodies” and were so impressed with the food! They took into account food preferences and every day we were amazed at the choices and how delicious it all was---we felt very spoiled. The campsites were spectacular and beautiful, waking up each morning to magnificent views of the river. We were also impressed with the side day hikes, to waterfalls, Zane Grey’s cabin, and more, all unexpected and unforgettable. Our guide took into account ability levels so we all 4 were able to do as much (or as little) as we wanted. Our family decided it was one of our best trips ever and gave us much to think about and remember." - Virginia
- 5 "The trip was way beyond our wildest expectations--mainly due to your team. You were so skilled, encouraging, knowledgeable, etc. and we literally have not stopped talking about the trip! We feel SO lucky with the makeup of the group (and, of course, the weather). So happy to have met you! " - Sue

- 5 "This was our first trip with Momentum, a three-day lodge trip down the Wild and Scenic section of the Rogue River. Three generations of my family were able to take the trip thanks to the thoughtful and thorough support of our guides. It was a trip we didn’t think we’d ever be able to take because of my 74-year-old father’s lower back issues. However, thanks to an imaginative seating solution from Alan involving a cooler and lawn chairs, my father and his wife were able to ride in a raft safely, securely, and comfortably for the entire trip! We were incredibly impressed with Alan, Brad, and Mike’s attention to detail throughout the trip, and their commitment to making it a memorable experience for our family. This was a “bucket list” trip for my dad (who had gone down the same stretch of river in the 1960s) and stepmother, and the fact they were able to do it in comfort and style on their “thrones” in the raft was such a treat for all of us. We were so impressed with the way Alan (and Brad and Mike) took extra care with the “elders” on the trip, always lending them a hand getting in and out of the boat and making sure they could participate as much as they wanted to, both in the rafts and on the short hikes along the way. He treated them like he’d treat his own parents. In our second raft, Brad provided tons of helpful advice for those who were trying out the duckies, building their confidence and offering support, encouragement, and, when appropriate, mild teasing. (Brad even went so far as to belt out “Eye of the Tiger” for inspiration at one point.) Mike hauled our gear (and food!) ably, efficiently, and with good humor, day after day. His work was largely behind the scenes, but it was obvious that he was a huge contributor to the overall experience. The lunches he prepared were as beautifully presented as they were healthy and delicious. Surprisingly, the dinner our guides prepared for us in a rustic kitchen at Black Bear Lodge was better than the one we got from the “professionals” at Paradise Lodge! By the end of the trip, it was as if we had three new members of the family—our guides were joining in the teasing and joking like they’d known us for years. Oh, and the river and the scenery were spectacular too! There were plenty of thrills, plenty of beautiful quiet spots, and fabulous wildlife (river otters, turtles, herons, bald eagles, deer). Thank you for creating such a memorable experience with a high-quality trip and phenomenal staff. We're already planning our next trip...."
- 5 "Your company makes it so easy for the “outdoor adventure challenged” to enjoy this spectacular wilderness area and always feel safe and comfortable. I started out with reasonably high expectations, but the experience far surpassed my wildest dream! I would recommend your adventures to anyone who has an interest in experiencing this wonderful wilderness in style and comfort."
- 5 "We've been savoring our time ever since. You were a great team; a wonderful lead---calm while watchful---and our Girls grew by paddles, rows and splashes. Keep caring, cooking and laughing the wonderful way you all do. - Rick" - Rick
- 5 "Hi Pete, We just finished our trip with your crew yesterday. I had to write to personally thank you for providing one of the best vacations I have ever had :) Arden, Zack, Paige and Anthony could not have been a better fit for our group and they made the trip that much more enjoyable and memorable. They were all infectious with their passion and happiness with being on the river and were so informative with history and stories along the way. I surprised even myself by how sad I was to leave yesterday, a very atypical mood for this "glass half full" kind of gal :) I told my dad today that we need to go back! p.s. the food was outstanding!!! -Dana " - Dana
- 5 "We had such a fantastic time. I am ready to sign up for another trip right now!! I can't thank you enough for how wonderful you were - especially with getting my kiddos involved in the adventure and encouraging them to stretch their wilderness muscles. It was a dream of mine to take a trip like this, and it exceeded my expectations. I also want to thank you for going above and beyond to accommodate our food issues. It was all just so much fun - even if it took a good week or so for my bottom to recover from the fish ladder. I was incredibly sore once I didn't have the cold river to jump in several times a day! -Diana " - Diana
- 5 "Hi Pete, Our group really enjoyed our trip and as the clients know, the guides make up a large part of that enjoyment. You have some very special guides there as I’m sure you know but it never hurts to hear it again. Our hat is off to their attitude, their professionalism and their ability to create a good time for the clients while being very aware of their safety issues. Your trip plan and people made for a special and memorable trip. Thanks from all of our group. -Bert" - Bert
