The guides are fun smart and provide Ritz Carlton like service in the wilderness– obviously the bathroom situation is a bit tough on us city folk 🙂 You spend each day rafting, kayaking and/or swimming down a very scenic river only to arrive at at a charming campsite. The execution from start to finish is well orchestrated and eases all burdens for the people who have wilderness-deficit."

  • "“Rafting Outfitter of the Year!” My rafting group (actually, a bunch of middle-aged city-slickers who pretend we are younger than we actually are) has been hitting America’s best whitewater for the past 20 years. To celebrate our 20th year, we rafted the Rogue Wild and Scenic River with Momentum. They were fabulous. (And since our motto is “liberty, fraternity, luxury,” we have high standards. We had rafted with Momentum before, so we had high expectations, but they exceeded even those. We opted for the three day guided Rogue trip with one night camping and one night at the rustic Paradise Lodge (which can only be reached by raft or boat). Everything was perfect. The guides were top-notch. The food was wonderful. (They even made pre-dinner cocktails!) Every detail was attended to. And the river, scenery, and stars were awesome. We most definitely would use Momentum again (and again, and again). Pete (the owner) runs a great outfit, and his staff are second to none. (We were guided by Cooper, Andy, and Mike, by the way. All three were fabulous.) If you are out west and looking for an amazing day or days surrounded by some of the country’s best scenery, give Momentum a call."
  • "We have just returned from the 4 day River Rogue camping adventure. It exceeded our wildest dreams. We’ve never taken a guided trip like this as a family and it was perfect in every way. The guides (Tyler, Eric and Daniel) were wonderful – you felt like you were in such safe hands as they totally were in control the whole time which meant we could simply relax and have as much fun as possible. I have 9 year old and 14 year old boys and Tyler encouraged them to stretch themselves in the kayaks as far as they could. To see my very small 9 year old bobbing up and down on rapids yet totally loving every second and knowing that Tyler would never let him try anything he couldn’t handle, was wonderful. Both boys, who’d had very limited exposure to kayaking, thrived, grew and relished the experience and grew in confidence. This was the most luxurious camping trip I’ve even been on. It was proper camping – no frills in terms of accommodation – but the food and organization – oh my! I’m a massive foodie and this was incredible. So healthy, so beautifully presented and stylish appetizers, with wine? Incredible. To arrive at camp and have your tent pitched already each night was such a treat. Not having to think about anything, no jobs to do, no arguments about who was washing up…. It was superb. The Rogue scenery was outstanding. So tranquil, so much wildlife to see, so varied. My favorite memory is floating on my back, in the river, for ages, just in awe of the beauty. For a family adventure, we simply could not beat this trip. It will be one of our best vacations ever. Everyone should try a Momentum River Trip once in their life! We however, are already planning our return trip and encouraging as many friends as possible to try it!"

The team couldn’t do enough for us, and did it with great modesty, seemingly vanishing in the background so that the river and our experience would be the main event, not them… I’ve been in the business world a long time, watching people try and fail to develop a service model anywhere close to what the guys pulled off in the wilderness.   • "BEST rafting company! – Friends organized an all women’s rafting trip – with mothers, aunts, sisters – all ages. We weren’t sure what to expect but Momentum completely delivered. We opted for the lodge rafting trip – 2.5 days on the water, 2 nights at beautiful river-side cabins/lodges. Not only was the river absolutely beautiful, but the lodges were amazing – comfortable but rustic – but the guides were phenomenal. They were professional – made us feel safe – but were fun and so incredibly organized. By far the best company on the river. The food was unbelievable – one day at lunch we arrived to the lunch spot to find out table set out at the base of a waterfall – with an array of beautiful fruit, cheeses, and desserts laid out. It was a bit surreal… Momentum is first class – they know how to do this right. They allow you to have fun and yet they certainly acknowledge the power of the river and are very safety focused. I would highly recommend them. And I can’t wait to raft with them in Chile!!! We rafted with Eric, Arden and Alan – all amazing :}"
  • "Lower Rogue Lodge Trip July 2012 – AHHHMAZING! – I have been rafting quite a few times before, but this was my first multi-day trip, and my first trip solo. Momentum made it wonderful! The guides were super friendly and lots of fun. The lodges were so quaint and rustic, yet somehow still river grade luxurious! That shower and glass of wine after a long day on the river was perfect. The food was spectacular, turns out our guides were gourmet chefs in disguise. We saw a ton of wildlife and even got some yoga in on the deck before breakfast. This is definitely a trip worth taking, and the outfitter is serious about taking care of their guests in a good way. I just might have to make this an annual trip."

  • "We had an EPIC trip rafting down the Rogue!! Our guides Tyler, Cooper and Arden made the trip for myself, my husband and our three boys aged 8,12 and 15 so much fun and far exceeded our expectations. Their confidence level made you feel so safe, they cooked the most amazing food and the views of the Rogue River were so beautiful and spectacular. My husband loved the more thrilling experience of the inflatable kayaking. Our guides also knew the best places for our two youngest boys to try their kayak skills and they only wished they had down it earlier on in the trip. My mother and her husband who traveled with us who are almost seventy years old had a wonderful time. All the wildlife you see is awesome and swimming in the side waterfalls was renewing. If you want a true family experience with you and your family go rafting down the Rogue with Momentum!"

  • "Went on a three day river rafting trip on the Rogue river with Momentum. Can not say enough great things about the trip and the company. We had 21 people in our group ranging from 7 year olds, to 70+ year olds. We camped the first day, and stayed in a Lodge (Paradise Inn) the second night. Our guides were Sammy, Eric and Andy while Sam and Mike carried out stuff and went ahead to set up camp. All 5 guides were phenomenal. Very knowledgeable about the river, but also great to hang out with in the evening and get to know. Sammy was great with the kids, Eric kept us safe and told us about all the history, and Andy provided a calm boat for those that wanted a smooth ride with minimal splashing. And Andy was so helpful and patient for our older couple that needed help in and out of the boats. We took turns in inflatable kayaks and never got sick of the river. The most unexpected part was the amazing fresh fruits and veggies for all meals, homemade hummus and chilaquiles for breakfast! All of us were so sad to see the trip end. I would recommend Momentum to any and every one and am sure I would be disappointed if I tried any other company in the future. We never met Pete, but it was clear he was behind all the decisions, most importantly the choice of guides and food menu. He runs a top notch company!! Thank you Momentum!"
