Getting There and Away

The Klamath has one of the largest drainages in the country and includes sections of 2 states. The section we run on this trip is in far Northern California very close to the Oregon border.

Our standard trip starts and ends at our home base in Ashland Oregon. Ashland is an amazing little town – it is definitely worth staying an extra night and checking out the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
We also have a driving option where you meet us at the river in Happy Camp, CA where the floating portion of the trip begins.

Standard Trip Option:

Our standard trip begins and ends in Ashland OR. From there we have about a 2 hour drive to the river and about a 3-hour drive back after the trip.  Ashland has a ton of lodging options, great restaurants, and the famous Ashland Shakespeare Festival.

Flying to the Ashland/Medford Area:

The Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport (MFR): You can fly to major airports in San Francisco, Sacramento, or Portland and then drive. However it is much more convenient to fly into our own Medford Airport. It is small, friendly, easy to get around, and has a fancy new terminal.
The airport is serviced by Horizon Air, United Express, Delta Connection, Sky West, and Allegiant Air. These carriers offer approximately 60 flights daily direct to and from San Francisco, Portland, Eugene, Seattle, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver, Las Vegas, and Salt Lake City. New flights and cheap fares are being added all the time – It is hard to believe that over 500,000 people fly in and out every year!

Driving Option :

If you are on a road trip in Northern California you may want to consider meeting us in Hayy Camp, CA instead. We will help you arrange to shuttle your car to the take-out at the end of the trip (the driving option trip price does not include your vehicle shuttle). The shuttle cost including gas is generally around $100 per vehicle.  At the end of the trip your car will be waiting.

Driving:
For the Driving Option we meet at the Indian Creek river access in the town of Happy Camp, CA. Happy Camp is located west of I-5 along Hwy 96 in the northern corner of the state. Here is our meeting spot on google maps >>
