We run the Upper Kern as a Charter trip and tailor it to the group. It is snowpack dependent and has many sections and options allowing us to pick and choose the best sections for the water levels and the group. Unlike the Lower Kern River, the Upper Kern is free-flowing, which means the river level fluctuates depending on snowmelt and the season tends to be earlier and shorter. In low water years, we raft the Kernville Rapid Run and Limestone sections. In higher water years we run Powerhouse and Cables. Either way, you’ll get to experience nearly ten miles of rafting and Class II, III, and IV rapids.
