The Futaleufu River valley is very remote and the trip to the Futaleufu is part of the adventure itself. The trip officially starts in the Chilean town of Puerto Montt, an easy connection from Santiago. From Puerto Montt we head to the neighboring and beautiful town of Puerto Varas. The town is located on the shores of Lago Llanquihue, Chile’s second-largest lake, with stunning views of Volcano Osorno (weather permitting). This is the owners favorite town in Chile and a great introduction to Patagonia. From there we will charter a small plane to take us farther south and into the Futaleufu Valley.
Travel to Chile is relatively easy and we can help you finding flights if needed. We use travel agents that routinely beats the best online prices and who knows the details of our itineraries. You will be looking for flights that arrive in Puerto Montt before 6 pm on the first day and depart after 2 pm on the last day.
Don’t hesitate to give us a call if you have more questions about the itinerary. And, just as before, we can also easily arrange extensions to Chile’s famous national park, Torres del Paine, either before or after your trip.
