  5 "Never before have I had every expectation met, and, once met, utterly surpassed to the point of obliteration. Maybe someday I’ll get to slide down the gravity well of a black hole. Until then, there’s Momentum… The guides on our trip embodied a quiet confidence and calm competence that was infectious. Never once did I feel endangered, even beneath my kayak in the middle of a rapid– it happens, and I enjoyed the ride… Momentum guides could lead a one-way expedition to Mars, and I’d sign up tomorrow. They also have some great late-night stories– and the night skies have never been so clear to my jaded eyes. The other guests on our trip were equally amazing. Between the guides and the guests, I have never been surrounded by so many kindred spirits. We were all there for a true time-of-our-lives, guides and guests alike. Once our child is barely old enough, we’re absolutely inflicting him on some folks. The brochure proclaims gourmet meals in the wilds of, in our case, Idaho. “Gourmet” does not adequately describe the effort and attention given to these meals. To get off an already amazing day on the river to an already prepared spread of brie and crackers was mind-blowing. Every single meal, breakfast lunch or dinner, was nutritious and deeply soul-satisfying. I was enabled to make the best sandwich I have ever made for myself beside a creek across from an abandoned mine trail. I took photos of that sandwich. These guides truly do love food and sharing their love of cooking as much as they love sharing their love of nature. I cannot recommend Momentum River Expeditions more highly. I’m not naive enough to believe that I’ve made friends for life on this trip, but I can honestly say that I met people with whom I would want to be friends with for the rest of my life. " 1 2 3 4 5

  5 "2 words…beyond expectation! With so many ‘tourist’ type companies operating these days, we were hoping the experience would live up to the blurb. It was better! Special thanks to Arden who is an amazing lady….one of a kind. Within minutes of meeting, we felt relaxed, safe and knew we were in good hands. Our 2 girls (aged 7 and 8) loved their first ever rafting experience as did Mummy and Daddy. Arden could not have done more to make it a lifelong memorable experience for us all. The guides were excellent, the food and accommodations were superb, and the trip was one of the best I have ever been on. It was a little bit hard to wrap my mind around the idea of “camping” in the same sentence as “luxury”—I’m not really used to having my gear packed off, my tent set up, and appetizers waiting—but it was fantastic in every way. Great staff, great food, very well planned and organized in the many details such as transportation to and from the ends of the river, amounts and variety of food, timing of the details of each day (sending the gear boats off, having meals and appetizers prepared on a schedule). From the guide (Arden) to the shuttle driver (Alan) to the food (snack before the trip, lunch part-way down the river, snack at the take-out), to the equipment they use to the river rapids (in my view many long Class IV and one Class V- rapids), this trip was awesome!   5 "“Rafting Outfitter of the Year!” My rafting group (actually, a bunch of middle-aged city-slickers who pretend we are younger than we actually are) has been hitting America’s best whitewater for the past 20 years. To celebrate our 20th year, we rafted the Rogue Wild and Scenic River with Momentum. They were fabulous. (And since our motto is “liberty, fraternity, luxury,” we have high standards. We had rafted with Momentum before, so we had high expectations, but they exceeded even those. We opted for the three day guided Rogue trip with one night camping and one night at the rustic Paradise Lodge (which can only be reached by raft or boat). Everything was perfect. The guides were top-notch. The food was wonderful. (They even made pre-dinner cocktails!) Every detail was attended to. And the river, scenery, and stars were awesome. We most definitely would use Momentum again (and again, and again). Pete (the owner) runs a great outfit, and his staff are second to none. (We were guided by Cooper, Andy, and Mike, by the way. All three were fabulous.) If you are out west and looking for an amazing day or days surrounded by some of the country’s best scenery, give Momentum a call." 1 2 3 4 5

  5 "We have just returned from the 4 day River Rogue camping adventure. It exceeded our wildest dreams. We’ve never taken a guided trip like this as a family and it was perfect in every way. The guides (Tyler, Eric and Daniel) were wonderful – you felt like you were in such safe hands as they totally were in control the whole time which meant we could simply relax and have as much fun as possible. I have 9 year old and 14 year old boys and Tyler encouraged them to stretch themselves in the kayaks as far as they could. To see my very small 9 year old bobbing up and down on rapids yet totally loving every second and knowing that Tyler would never let him try anything he couldn’t handle, was wonderful. Both boys, who’d had very limited exposure to kayaking, thrived, grew and relished the experience and grew in confidence. This was the most luxurious camping trip I’ve even been on. It was proper camping – no frills in terms of accommodation – but the food and organization – oh my! I’m a massive foodie and this was incredible. So healthy, so beautifully presented and stylish appetizers, with wine? Incredible. To arrive at camp and have your tent pitched already each night was such a treat. Not having to think about anything, no jobs to do, no arguments about who was washing up…. It was superb. The Rogue scenery was outstanding. So tranquil, so much wildlife to see, so varied. My favorite memory is floating on my back, in the river, for ages, just in awe of the beauty. For a family adventure, we simply could not beat this trip. It will be one of our best vacations ever. Everyone should try a Momentum River Trip once in their life! We however, are already planning our return trip and encouraging as many friends as possible to try it!" 1 2 3 4 5

  5 "How many times can you truly say an activity/excursion EXCEED your expectations?? Momentum did this in a big way!! Vikram, Shana, and Lorenzo not only gave us exciting floats down Class IV-V rapids, they also blew us away with their service, hospitality and camp cuisine. The camp was amazing, as it is on a secluded stretch of the river. When is the last time you spend two nights and ALL you heard was the river? You were sleeping in a tent but the nights cooled off in July to the point you were looking for that sleeping bag they gave you! Make no mistake, by camp food, I am talking about international food that was eaten by the picky palates of my teens. I am not listing menu as it changes, but you will not be disappointed. Not only was the food good, it was plentiful…omg, we are eating Again??? These guides aren’t just passing through on their way to a different career, these are educated, world-traveled, highly skilled service-minded people who love to share their passion with others! The conversations in the raft and at camp we akin to watching National Geographic. They should be called “chik a fila” rafting because every request & every need was met with my pleasure.
